The new Ciabatta is a revolutionary new spring assisted knife. It may be my most favorite spring assisted knife of all time. The way it opens, is you push the blade slightly into the handle and then release. The blade pops open fast. The new Ciabatta is a completely new idea in folding knives. The mechanism is "Spring Assisted" because the knife can only be opened with pressure applied to the blade, and there is a detent that keeps the blade in the closed position so that it cannot be flipped open with gravity. The Pin Lock Ultra Safety (PLUS) mechanism will take a few minutes to become familiar with. Don't worry if it takes a couple of trys to get this knife open. Once you figure it out, it is a cinch. You will wonder why all spring assists aren't built this way. Since this knife opens and closes in a completely different manner than other knives, be sure to take some time to review the instruction sheet before handling these knives.

Pat Crawford, who operates Crawford Knives in West Memphis, Arkansas, with his son Wes, is a mellow and soft-spoken custom knifemaker. But there is nothing mellow about his custom Triumph™ Folder which Pat calls, “a fast cutting machine for professionals.”
He says, “I was impressed by the strength and slashing ability of a reverse-curve Tanto blade, so that was where I started designing the Triumph. It has a different look, not as art, but as an entirely functional shape.”
Like Pat’s customs, our production Triumph Folder is a large and formidable tactical knife designed for grip, with double finger choils, thumb friction grooves and deeply grooved G10 scales. The 420J2 stainless steel liners, one locking, are a hefty 0.1” thick.
The beefy 0.14” thick blade is a dual-grind Tanto with a recurve to aid cutting and a false top edge grind for penetrating power. Blade steel is premium AUS 8 stainless steel. Both Razor-Sharp as well as Combined Razor-Sharp and our exclusive patented(1) Veff™ Serrated edges are available. Developed by Oregon City, Oregon, knife designer Tom Veff, these serrations are wide and angled at 60 degrees to the edge. The resulting cutting points bite instantly and dig deep upon contact, slicing smoothly and effortlessly.
The Triumph Folder is available with our patented(2) OutBurst™ assisted opening mechanism, which instantly springs the blade fully open after you have opened the blade approximately 30 degrees.
To maximize safety, we built in our exclusive patented(3) AutoLAWKS™ safety that automatically actuates when the folder is opened and locked, creating a virtual fixed blade instantly.
Two color schemes are available. The “K” series has a matte black EDP coated blade with special black and green G10 scales. When they decided to build the Wild Weasel, it was necessary that they find a domestic manufacturer with a new, state-of-the-art plant that could match the manufacturing quality they get in Taiwan. You be the judge. If you already own and use CRKT knives, buy a Wild Weasel and compare.
CRKT's Tailwind™ speed assist technology (patent pending) is ingeniously simple, strong and lightweight. Its over-center cam/spring design holds the folder securely closed. When either of the dual thumb studs is rotated outward 30 degrees, the Tailwind spring instantly rotates the blade to full open and locked position. Teflon® bushings at the blade pivot help make the action smooth and very fast.
The 3-1/4" hollow ground modified drop point blade is premium 154CM stainless steel at 58-60 Rc. with a non-reflective light bead blast finish. The InterFrame handle consists of two 410 stainless steel liners, one locking, and scales of gray hard anodized 6061 aluminum with black Santoprene inserts inlaid at strategic points on both sides of the knife. To aid grip, the handle has deep finger choils and a pronounced pommel.
