However, as a premium-quality knife, its price tag put it out of reach of many military and law enforcement personnel. In response to their requests, BLACKHAWK! manufactured the same exact design, making calculated changes to the blade steel and coating to make it more affordable. The result was the Crucible II. This high-performance folding knife features a stout, flush-ground liner-lock mechanism, textured G-10 handle slabs, and a distinctive handle shape that provides a superior grip and hand protection. Its broad spearpoint blade is ground from AUS 8A stainless steel and features a non-reflective black Teflon® coating. Available with either a plain or partially serrated edge, the Crucible II also features a four-position clip that supports all possible carry positions and Phillips-head clip and pivot screws for easy user maintenance.

The BHB30 is one excellent knife.  It has speed, reliability, and a spring assisted-opening mechanism that has the hallmarks of a superior tactical tool.  When you open the BHB30's 440c stainless steel blade 30 degrees, the spring-assist steps in and swiftly moves the blade to full open.  There the blade locks in place with an industry leading stainless steel liner-lock mechanism.   The beautiful handle scales are made from injection-molded nylon and feature a distinctive "tiger stripe" pattern.  This means you can grab it and hold it regardless of the elements.  The extended handle gives you leverage and a focus point for making sure all your strength is behind any weapon strikes you make.  The BHB30 has speed, style and function.  It is a true all around knife.
