The Gerber 06 automatic knives are fantastic. This knife has a tanto point, which I prefer, and is part serrated. Rather large, when open the knife measures 8.6" long with a 3.7" long blade, I really like the feel of this knife in my hand. The handle, made of Type III 6061 aluminum, has nice grip lines along the handle which provide a good solid grip on it. The handle is also well shaped and about the perfect size for a medium to large hand. It has nice contours along the handle for your fingers to grab hold of. The blade, made of S30V stinaless steel, can stand a lot of abuse. Made to last under the harshest of conditions, the Gerber 06 automatic knife is a winner. The button is really large--which makes it easy to trigger even if you are wearing gloves. The open speed is just a little slower than some other top end automatics--not enough to steer me away from the knife--but the blade locks up extremely tight and there is no wiggle in the blade.
