Description

The Kershaw Blur Spring Assisted Knife, designed by Ken Onion has top performance and a fabulous clean look. This model, the 1670BW, sports a black handle and a black tactical plain edge BlackWash blade. The blade is built from Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel and the handle is built of 6061 T6 aluminum. Made with the SpeedSafe system, it opens very smooth and very fast. Just push on one of the ambidextrous (one on each side of the blade) blade buttons and the blade easily opens with one hand. For the price point, I think this is an excellent offering. I'm not enough of a cutlery expert to really critique this, but as a workingman looking for a new EDC (I used to carry the 1560st for 11 years) I am very happy with this. The open back design will make this easier to keep clean, the speedsafe assist is awesome, the thumbstud is a different shape than the cylindrical studs I'm used to, but I've grown to like it, the blade is has a nice belly and a good width for an EDC of this size. I like that the handle is metal, as opposed to the plastic handle on the 1560st. The pocket clip is reversible, but I'm ok with it tip up carry (the way it arrived) The blackwash finish is very attractive. Overall I just wanted an EDC workhorse, nothing too ornamental, so I think this will work well. BladeOps had the best price I could find anywhere, and the exact colorway I wanted, they also shipped extremely fast. I am happy with my purchase.
