Description Technical Specs BladeOps Knife Reviews and Videos

The all new Makora II is an incredible Double Action (D/A) OTF knife.  This knife is big.  It currently holds the record as the largest D/A production knife.  You open it by pushing the trigger up and then close it by pulling the trigger down.  Both sides of this particular model are sharp and plain edge.  It has an all black blade.  This new knife will go quickly.  Buy one quick for your collection or for everyday carry.

Makora II D/A May 6, 2009
Reviewer: Tye D from Houston
Dear Blade Ops.
I recently purchased a Michrotech Makora II D/A.  I was delighted when the Makora II
arrived.  The Makora II is a finely made tool with
a superior fit and finish.  Wobble in the blade is virtually non-existent.  The
spear point blade is both attractive and functional with a very graceful width to
length ratio.  There is a drilled hole pattern near the hilt of the blade.  I don't
know that the drilled hole pattern performs a function other than esthetic value.
However, the drilled hole pattern appears to be a weak place in the blade but it
does look good.  The OTF blade extends and retracts in the blink of an eye. The
Makora II does not have a safety to keep from operating the trigger accidentally.
Therefore, the trigger is rather difficult to operate and may take two hands for
both opening and closing.  He handle is long and slim and may be uncomfortable or
difficult for someone with large hands or wearing gloves. The Makora II comes with
two interchangeable butt buttons (for lack of a better word) that screw into the
handle. One has a hardened round end the other has three sharp prongs.  I think the
hard button is for breaking glass and I can't figure out the function of the three
prong button.  I would appreciate input on this feature.  I would recommend the
Makora II to anyone in the market for an excellently made OTF knife.  It will suit
those with average size and very strong hands the best.
I hope this helps other purchasers of fine knives.
Respectfully,
Tye D
