Schrade Nitro MAGIC Spring Assist Tanto Knife, Silver Plain Edge

The Schrade Nitro MAGIC Spring Assist knife is nearly an automatic although it technically is a spring assist knife. The blade can be deployed with the thumb studs but it is way more exciting to deploy it with the spine button. You pull the flipper button towards you and the blade snaps right out. This is a great knife. The MAGIC stands for Multipurpose Assisted Generational Innovative Cutlery. The handle on this great spring knife is made of T6061 aluminum and the blade is 4034 stainless steel. This knife has a tanto point blade and the knife comes with a pocket clip, safety, and a striker on the base of the handle. Overall: 8" Blade: 3.25" Weight: 5.2oz

Fantastic! I am not the biggest fan of Schrade. I think some of their knives are a little bulky or have some other fatal flaw. This knife, on the other hand, is a major exception. Similar in construction to the Smith & Wesson M&P line of spring assist knives, the Nitro MAGIC knives are better. The button is a little bigger--which I think is good. It is also a little more sturdy. Overall, the Nitro assist knives are a little bigger but maybe just a tiny bit thinner. I like the overall feel of these knives. They are big enough to get the job done, but small enough to fit well in your pocket. The Nitro would be a great EDC knife. I especially like the MAGIC system. It makes a spring assist knife feel almost like an automatic knife. Great knife!
