This new 2nd Generation OTF knife from Smith & Wesson has an all new out-the-front mechanism. You just push on the slide button near the base of the blade and once you get the blade moving a little the spring takes over and shoots the blade out the front. The blade locks up nice and solid as it reaches full extension. To close the blade, you just pull down on the slider and lock it back into place. This is an automatic open and manual close knife. This nice inexpensive OTF knife from Smith & Wesson has a stainless steel (4116) black nitride finished blade. The handle is black coated aluminum and is textured for additional grip.
