Description

The Manix 2 is a dependable full-service knife that showcases Spydero's USA-made quality while utilizing its patented Ball Bearing Lock mechanism. Considered one the their toughest locking mechanisms, it consists of a hardened steel ball bearing encased in a polymer cage. After the blade has been opened, a quick simultaneous pull back on the oval-shaped ridged tabs releases the lock and allows the blade to pivot smoothly closed. Just like the Endura or Delica series, the tremendous popularity inspired a number of variations to highlight different aspects of the knife--from lighter handle scales to alternate blade finishes and styles and even touching upon multiple size ranges. This model, the C101PBBK2, features black lightweight textured FRCP (Fiberglass Reinforced Co-Polymer) handle scales with strategically placed jimping and a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) black finished blade in a leaf shape style. This folder also comes standard with Spyderco's trademark round hole opening feature and the pocket clip is designed for tip up carry only but is eligible for left or right hand carry options. Made in the USA.

I love the all black Spyderco knives. Most of my Spyderco collection has the all black look.

Overall, very satisfied. Blade ops characteristic quick shipping. The knife itself has great ergonomics, plenty of options to hold and choke-up. Decent blade steel, good for my needs. The GFN handle feels cheap but knowing what I’m gaining in weight savings it’s a fair trade off although it definitely has more flex/give than I expected. Naturally the bearing lock needed breaking in but eventually was easier to deploy and close.
