At first inspection the Spyderco embassy appears to be of the quality I have come to expect from over 15 years of experience with Spyderco knives. There were a few imperfections with the machining of the the handle, otherwise everything looks very well made. And the imperfections would only be noticed by the most anal knife enthusiast. The blade, while very sharp from the factory, looked like the grind on the edge was a little sloppy, unlike my other Spyderco knives. However this seems to have no effect on cutting performance. The opening action is crisp, but I did notice when depressing the button there is a feeling of grinding. Upon further inspection I discovered that the aluminum locking mechanism was not sliding smoothly against the steel blade. I don't think this will much effect on the performance of the action. Overall I am very pleased with the knife and feel that it was well worth the money spent.
