Description

The Manix 2 is a dependable full-service knife that showcases Spydero's USA-made quality while utilizing its patented Ball Bearing Lock mechanism. Considered one the their toughest locking mechanisms, it consists of a hardened steel ball bearing encased in a polymer cage. After the blade has been opened, a quick simultaneous pull back on the oval-shaped ridged tabs releases the lock and allows the blade to pivot smoothly closed. Just like the Endura or Delica series, the tremendous popularity inspired a number of variations to highlight different aspects of the knife--from lighter handle scales to alternate blade finishes and styles and even touching upon multiple size ranges. This model, the C101GPDBL2, features dark blue textured G-10 handle scales with strategically placed jimping and a satin finished blade in a leaf shape style. This folder also comes standard with Spyderco's trademark round hole opening feature and the pocket clip is designed for tip up carry only but is eligible for left or right hand carry options. Made in the USA.

Fit & finish are impeccable. The strong lock spring broke in within a few flicks and is now perfect. The knife was super sharp out of the box but I couldn’t resist stropping it a bit to make it “my own”. The blue G10 scales are strikingly beautiful on my estimation. As many reviewers have said, the ergonomics are perfect. I have many Spyderco knives, the Para2 (lefty version … I wish they would make this available on other compression lock models), the Endura 4 in K390, the Stretch 2 in ZDP189, the Sage 5 in S30V, the Native Chief in CTS-XHP, the Police 4 in K390, and the DLC coated S30V Manix XL. This is easily my favorite knife, though the XL and the Endura are not too far behind. I really love this knife and highly recommend it.
