Built by Benchmade Knives, the Big Creek fillet knife is the perfect tool for any fisherman. With a classic shaped 420J stainless steel fillet blade, this knife makes quick work of your catch. My favorite thing about this knife, is the fact that it folds down. I have several fillet knives, and nearly all of them are fixed blade knives. This folder makes for a smaller package--which means I can fit more lures in my tackle box. It also means the blade is folded away so I don't have to worry about it jabbing me when I reach into my tackle box without looking. When you are ready to stow your knife blade, you extend a small pullout tray from the base of the handle and then the blade folds down and rests in the handle and pullout tray. When you want to get it back out and use it, just open the blade and push the tray back into the handle. This also serves to lock the blade open--making it sturdy enough for even the biggest catch. I also really like the nylon handle. It is grey and orange, which makes it bright and easy to find. The nylon is quite "grippy" and the knife doesn't slip around in my hand--even when things are wet and messy. It also has a finger index groove which gives you a great hold on the knife.
