Fast, strong, heavy duty, compact, quality-- I could go on for a long time. The Mini Barrage is the best of all worlds. It features the AXIS assist locking mechanism. If you haven't ever carried a knife with this system, you are missing out on something special. Give the thumb studs a small nudge and the blade springs open and locks up tight with the AXIS system. From there, to get the blade closed, you pull the AXIS lock towards yourself and the blade is released to close. The black G-10 handles are comfortable with lots of texturing and shaping that make for a solid grip no matter what is going on. The clip is tip up and can be right or left handed. What makes little beauty stand out is the M390 blade. According to the Benchmade site, M390 is a "high performance blade steel with superior cutting ability and wear resistance due to its high concentration of vanadium and chromium carbides..." What is amazing to me, is that M390 is strong, but it also has incredible corrosion resistance. Which means my Mini Barrage is going to be around for a long time.
