Because the thick steel blades can be ground down to a thin edge, they are exceedingly sharp and due to the high carbon content, the steel will hold its edge for a surprisingly long time. The Griv-Ex handles are deeply textured, won't crack, warp or shrink, and are impervious to the elements.
