Description

This Microtech Ultratech OTF automatic features a contoured blue handle complete with standard black hardware and an integrated glass breaker function along with a dagger style blade in a black finish with satin finished blade flats.

The Ultratech without question has been Microtech's flagship out the front auto knife since its induction in 1999. Recently it has gone through an additional aesthetic redesign after the overwhelming success and praise of the traditional styling. While the dimensions of the Ultratech remain unchanged, the handle has been stripped back down to its original roots--now offering a smooth contoured chassis, however still boasting the tri-angle hardware, a redesigned thumb slide and the glass breaker that now includes a press fitted ball bearing for a more comfortable, but still functional, user experience. Each Microtech OTF knife has extremely sophisticated internal mechanisms which improve the overall operational functionality and reliability.

Excellent description, works great very appealing. Wasn't expecting as much resistance when opening and closing at first from my experience with other otf's but still great. Feels solid

What can I say, the Ultratech is a benchmark in the industry for a reason. Solid action and craftsmanship. After having held the Dirac and Combat Troodon, I think the Ultratech has the more user friendly and satisfying action. The Combat Troodon is hell on your deployment finger, and the action on the Dirac isn't as smooth to me. The switch will make your thumb sore till you're used to it, but trust me, the Combat Troodon is worse and would take some time to get used to with a virgin trigger finger. I'm sure with time my thumb would get used to it and this wouldn't be factor over the long term. This Ultratech however, is perfect for me.
