Piranha knives have certainly made their mark in the automatic knives arena for their tight tolerances, consistent quality and competitive pricing. Thanks to their unique custom-like anodized handle colors and a multitude of knife models with their respective blade variations, Piranha can most certainly appeal to every knife user. All models feature all-stainless steel hardware in addition to a titanium pocket clip. The Pocket showcases aircraft grade aluminum handle scales that have been chamfered, rounded and polished for a comfortable and ergonomic feel and offer a pronounced finger groove for added gripping power. Piranha knives have been delighting knife aficionados for over a decade. The Pocket is the knife that started it all for them. Built with a classic shaped knife handle of 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, the handle is comfortable to hold and offers a supremely confident grip. When you have the knife in hand, you know it isn't going to slip. The index finger notch and the palm swell make it feel good and reduce the likelihood of a slip. The scales have eight grooves that run across the handle that offer extra grip and add a touch of visual appeal. At the base of the handle, there is a lanyard hole for alternate carry. At the top of the handle, closest to the blade, the handle has a slight indentation. The trigger button sits inset in the indentation. After having carried a Piranha for several months, I can attest that although the knives do not have a safety, the indentation makes it very unlikely that you will accidentally "pocket fire" the knife. I haven't ever done it. My friend has carried one for over two years now and he has never done it either. The back scale has the same grooves running across and the pocket clip is attached tip up.
