This Pro-Tech Harkins ATAC is a first from Pro-Tech in the dual action realm of knives that has been increasing in popularity over the last several years. By definition, a dual action knife is one that can be manually opened with a flipper function or thumb studs and also be deployed automatically with a hidden plate or bolster. Each model consists of dual cocobolo wood inlays and is actuated by pressing on the lower half of the topmost inlay. Besides the uniqueness of the operating mechanism and design, the ATAC also features a custom 3-D machined titanium pocket clip in an orange peel finish as well as an updated tapered thumb disk. This model, the 8806-D, features a smooth black anodized aluminum handle complete with a cocobolo inlay, a drop point style blade in a Chad Nichols designed damascus finish and the titanium pocket clip is statically designed for tip up carry only on the traditional side of the handle.
