The SOG Strat Ops automatic knife is one of many new knives released by SOG this year. This model is an invigorating new design that takes design cues from the popular Spec Elite I series but provided a radical upgrade with its wider heftier handle and an ultra premium USA-made CPM-S35VN stainless steel blade. The end result is improved toughness, better edge retention and higher resistance to wear and edge chipping--perfect for the most demanding of jobs. Specifically tailored for the tactical user, the blade action is quick and locks up securely while also providing ideally placed jimping on both the blade and the handle scale for increased control on precise cutting tasks. The micarta handles were machined with insets, as well as the SOG logo, for increased control and grip and there is an integrated slide safety on the back side of the knife that allows the blade to be locked in either the open or closed position. This model, the SO-1001, features a black canvas micarta handle, a drop point style blade in a black TiNi (Titanium Nitride) finish and the deep carry pocket clip is designed for tip up carry only but is eligible for left or right hand carry options.
