Description

The Tenacious is 1 of 4 models Spyderco produced that embodies, and aptly named, the human nature of the "never give up" attitude. Ranked as the second largest of the group, each model features a liner lock opening/closing mechanism and the ergonomic profile allows you to complete your task with less fatigue. This knife is part of Spyderco's Value Folder family which offers many different styles and models but certainly doesn't sacrifice high quality for the low price. This model, the C122GPS, features a black G-10 laminate handle, skeletonized stainless steel liners, a drop point style blade, that is partly serrated, in a satin finish, Spyderco's trademark round hole opening feature and an ambidextrous 4-way positional pocket clip which allows for a tip up or tip down carry option on either side of the handle.

SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Blade Length: 3.39"
  • Overall Length: 7.76"
  • Blade Material: 8Cr13MoV Stainless Steel
  • Blade Finish: Satin
  • Handle Length: 4.37"
  • Handle Material: G-10 Laminate
  • Weight: 4.1 oz.

Spyderco's Tenacious is an excellent EDC option for a pretty small amount of cash. It rides nice in your pocket, too. For the money, you get nice G-10 handles, easy operation and comfortable ergonomics, and steel that has been well heat-treated. The 4-position adjustable clip is a nice feature, allowing for right or left handed carry, either tip-up or tip-down. All in all, this knife feels and performs much better than a typical "value knife" while retaining the most important feature-the value price. Recommended for EDC on (somewhat of) a budget.

This is a great knife for the price. The blade is the right size and the G-10 grips are the best. The only gripe I have is where the knife is made. I guess that's why it's on the low end price-wise. Other than that, it's a great choice for EDC.
